What is the best ear-training software program? What is the best music theory training software program?
This would be for adult beginning and intermediate music students. I’ve heard of Auralia and Practica Musica, which both seem to be popular, but it’s not really clear what the difference is between these two. Has anyone used both, and how do they compare? Is there something newer and better? Thanks!!
I have actually never heard of either of those, but if you ever come across one called MacGamut, RUN AWAY! It is the only reason I got a B in my last ear training class. The sound is tinny, and almost impossible to hear, plus most of the program just doesn't make sense. I haven't found a good one yet. If you're good with computers, making your own drills may not be a bad idea.
