Sending Faxes via Email: How Easy is it?
It was only a few short years ago that most of us hadn't hear about email, yet today rarely are things faxed, instead their emailed around the globe. With this has brought the demise of the old fax machine. More people emailing documents means there's less need to fax important documents back and forth.
Of course there will always be that important client or person at the office that won't want to email items, and still prefers to send items by fax instead.In the next few paragraphs I'm going to illustrate how easy it is to send a fax via email, all you need to do is sign up for an account with an email to fax service.
Getting Started
Before you can send a fax with your email account you're going to need to sign up for an account with a Internet fax provider. The top providers are efax, myfax and Ring central fax. Any one of these will provide you with the functionality to send faxes online with your email address.
After you join you'll be given a local or toll-free fax number it depends on the company you choose and your geographic location.This fax number will be how you receive faxes, which are also sent to your email address.
How to Send a Fax Via Email
Sending a fax via email is as easy as emailing a document, the only different is who you address the email to.
Instead of sending your email to a regular email recipient your route the email through the server for the email to fax provider your signed up with then they will forward on the fax cover and your documents.How the entire process works varies from one Internet fax service to another.
Most companies get you to send your fax to the email address thefaxnumber@thecompany.com so here's a simple example, you're sending a faxed document to fax number 1-999-333-6666 using efax, the email you might send would be to the following address 1999333666@efax.com.
This would then send the email body (as the cover page) as well as any documents attached to the fax number at the given number.
That's it, you're done fax sent.You don't need to print anything, and there's not need to make a cover page just hit the send button and your fax is off.
