"Life Between the Keys" tells about the lives of two-brothers and three-sisters, all Mormons from Utah and members of the Brown Family. The book contains short stories told by each talented member of this musical group. From the youngest years in their memory to present day, this group of classical pianists has had many adventures as they attended their early years in school and were fortunate and talented enough that all five of them were accepted to Julliard School of Music in New York.
This talented group explains their adventures and misadventures through their young lives, both in the United States and throughout the world. The tryouts to get into Julliard were works of exhaustion including long hours of practicing on their instrument, the piano, and then awaiting the word of acceptance or not. There being several years age difference, they attended at different times but at one time were in the school together. Their lives in dormitories of various types and conditions give good latitude of chuckles. Since they were not always "angels" they did get into trouble at times but managed to get around any problems fairly well. Living in a mess of a room became the mainstay of some of the guys, of course, not acceptable to the girls.
The 5 Browns are now internationally known as a group of fantastic classical pianists. Their concerts are composed of music played in duets to all five playing at once. Being a musician myself I can understand the trials they went through. Being so young they were not always taken seriously as being great pianists. But great they were and are. You will enjoy their stories as they follow their lives individually from early years through present day. Also their thoughts of the terrorists attack on September 11, 2001 are told as they saw and remembered it. Four of them were living in New York City at the time of the attacks so that part of their lives will forever be engrained in their minds and hearts.
