Leading The Good Life In A Positive Way
Having your cake and eating it too is possible in this day and age even though many may still stick to the old adage that it's impossible to do both. What this means is that you can, indeed, have all of the things of a happy marriage -- wife, kids, home etc. -- while also still having a little bit of fun in your life as long as it's aimed in productive directions.
As an example, think back to when you were a decent musician, fairly skilled at playing the guitar. You may have even had a nice gig going in terms of a band when you met the lady of your dreams and gave it all up. It's possible, though, to get a little of it back as long as you address the needs of your family first. Once you do that, feel free to pull out the old Ibanez electric guitar and jam on occasion with some friends.
Keep in mind an important word when it comes to all of the above; priorities. You've got to have them if you hope to lead a good life made up of many positive aspects that marries just a bit of what you once had in your old life with the far greater rewards you're gaining in your new life. This means making a plan and sticking with it by figuring out what's important and what's not so important and then taking care of both in their own order.
Maybe you also liked to do a little bit of wilderness hiking and photography back before you entered into your new life. Well, you can still have a bit of that as long as you realize that it's important you keep your family involved in some of your passions. Bring the wife and child along -- remember that kids go in a car seat like an Eddie Bauer convertible -- and go out there and live a little.
Of course, those surrounding you don't need to share completely in every single thing you do, but it's important to remember that you need to do your part when it comes to looking out for their wants and needs before addressing your own. In this regard, maybe you've always meant to clean out the garage of all its clutter, for the sake of the family. It may be a good time to pull out that portable space heater you've had for a while and get out there and clean the garage up.
In reality, it isn't all that hard to take a life and manage it in a way that allows you to have all of the great things that you once loved while also addressing all of the newer and greater things that you now love. For one, benefiting from a family's love helps with personal growth simply because you're sharing among the family all of the love that you're capable of giving. This alone can be a great reason for planning out your life a little more.
Leading the good life in a positive way isn't really that difficult, especially nowadays when there's so much help and assistance available for people who need to plan a bit better. There are plenty of ways to access advice and planning tools that can help you plan out your life even down to what kind of socks you going to wear three or four years from now. So then; keep your life prioritized and have a plan for meeting those priorities above all else.
