Play Guitar with Online Guitar Lessons
What is the best way to learn to play guitar? That is the question if you will excuse the pun. Is it better to find a local guitar teacher or is it more advantageous to learn to play using online guitar lessons?
This is a debate that grows more interesting as time goes on. Just a few years ago, no one would have thought to ask this question. Private lessons were the way to go. Now there are some very fine online courses to choose from.
In my opinion a private teacher is always the best way to go but, it is not the most convenient. When you take guitar lessons from a private teacher you get personalized lessons tailored to how you want to play the guitar.
There are limitations to this approach. The first is the ongoing expense. With each lesson you take you have to pay the instructor. This can be upwards of $30 or more per lesson. If you take a year's worth of weekly lessons that is over $1,500!
On the other hand, you can find an excellent online course that gives online guitar lessons for under $100. A course like this will teach you how to play guitar in the comfort and convenience of your home.
Now do you get the same level of training from a set of online guitar lessons as you might from a private lesson? Of course not, private lessons should always provide better training than online lessons. What online lessons are good for is getting the basics of how to play guitar and these lessons provide an cost effective way to determine whether or not you really like the guitar.
Many people believe they want to learn how to play guitar. Then after spending thousands of dollars of lessons determine that the guitar is just not for them. Wouldn't it have been much less expensive and much simplier if they had bought online guitar lessons?
So, if you ask me, the very best way for someone new to learn how to play the guitar is to find a good online course. Start there and then if you find that you like playing the guitar advance to the private lessons. This way you will save cash and learn how to play the guitar. You’ll get the best of both worlds. And, even when you begin to take the private lessons you can still go back and refresh your skills with the online course.
Take my recommendations and I think you will have a great time learning and playing the guitar.
