The Interesting Story Of Slush Cocktail Devices
The slushie was allegedly created in about the year 1800 in a bar named Venus in Santiago, Chile, roughly 23 miles on the eastern side of the Tiano iron mine, by a collection of U.S. mining engineers. Stories persist that Jennings Cox devised the beverage when he completely ran out of gin when entertaining American visitors.
In the beginning the slushee was served in a tall glass jam-packed with cracked ice. A teaspoon of sugar was poured onto the ice and the juice of a couple of limes was squeezed onto the sugar. 2 or three oz . of rum finished the concoction. The glass was then frosted by mixing with a long handled spoon.

The slushie grew to be progressively more popular and the slushee spread across North & South America rapidly, until Prohibition in the United states of america (1920–1933) slowed up the momentum substantially.
